Energy Saving and Money Saving Tips

Are you looking to save a few pennies this coming fall. Well you might be able to look at saving energy as a means to not only save pennies but dollars too.

With rising gas and other energy prices you may finally be able to save enough money turning off the lights to buy a meal. In years past when someone would say you can save money by turning off the lights I would usually just laugh at them and say, “And I can find a penny in your couch cushions too.”

Now, turning off the lights and other energy saving tips might turn out to save you a few dollars as well.

There was an interesting article on just this subject over at MercuryNews.com and some of the tips they suggested are really Age Old Tips. They include.

- Keeping exterior doors and windows closed when using heating or air conditioning

-Closing the damper on your firplace

- Cleaning the coils on your refrigerator and setting the temperature to a reasonably cool point.

- Wash only full loads in the dishwasher

The list goes on and on and has some great points that might help you save a few dollars that you can put towards that ING savings account.
